30th Congress of Chinese Society of Pathology and 14th Annual Meeting of Chinese Pathologists
On August 23rd, pathologists from across China gathered at the Shanghai World Expo Center to witness the grand opening of the 14th Chinese Congress of Pathology! Liu Dongge, the incoming Chairperson of the Pathology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA), delivered a brilliant opening speech. As hosts representing the local organizing committee, Wu Jinglei, the then President of the Shanghai Medical Association, and Tang Feng, the Chairperson of the Shanghai Pathology Branch, warmly welcomed pathologists from various regions of China and overseas who had traveled long distances to attend the congress.
Liang Zhiyong, the Chairperson of the Pathology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, shared with the attending Chinese pathologists in a humorous and witty manner how the Pathology Branch had carried out a series of rich, diverse, and significant initiatives over the past year, with the core theme of "Inheritance, Innovation, and Development".
The congress also solemnly invited two distinguished guests to deliver wonderful speeches: Academician Shi Yigong of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and President of Westlake University, and Academician Bian Xiuwu of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Department of Pathology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University (Third Military Medical University). Additionally, Academician Shi Yigong gave an excellent presentation titled "Pharmaceutical Innovation and Development in the Post-AI Era". He emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) is profoundly transforming the pathways of medical research and clinical practice. As a bridge between basic medicine and clinical medicine, pathology is deeply integrating with medical science and technological research, reshaping the innovation ecosystem.
According to the congress data, there were 5,276 registered participants, 38 parallel sessions, 6,867 submitted abstracts, 1,252 poster presentations, and nearly 170 participating enterprises and institutions.
